Arvada Mayor to Host Ribbon-Cutting Event to
Kick-Off Gold Line Groundbreaking Celebrations on August 31st.

and ice cream and the ceremony just before 2:30 p.m.
(Arvada, CO) – Join Arvada Mayor, Bob Frie, as he officially opens the RTD
Commuter Rail Display as part of the FasTracks program, which will be exhibited
in the Olde Town Square through September 11th. The ribbon-cutting event is
slated for Wednesday, August 31st, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with music and ice
cream in the Olde Town Square near 57th Avenue and Olde Wadsworth. (The
actual ceremony begins at 2:30 p.m.)
The Mayor will be joined by RTD Director, Lorraine Anderson, to meet and greet
the community for this all-American celebration complete with United States flags
and free ice cream for guests.
At the conclusion of the ribbon-cutting event, guests will return to Grandview
Avenue (two blocks south) for the official announcement of a major transit
funding award for the Regional Transportation District’s East Rail Line to Denver
International Airport and the Gold Line to Arvada and Wheat Ridge. The two lines
are part of RTD’s FasTracks transit expansion program.
