Arvada’s New City Manager to Meet Scarecrow Festival Attendees

(Arvada, CO) – Recently appointed Arvada City Manager, Mark Deven, plans to host
a booth at the 15th annual Arvada Scarecrow festival to meet and greet citizens on
Saturday, October 8, in Olde Town Arvada from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Thousands of people attend this family-friendly event that features a scarecrow contest,
children’s train ride, hayrides, community and food booths, a kiddie cone maze and
many activities and entertainment for the whole family.

Enter a pumpkin in the Giant Pumpkin Contest and see pumpkins of amazing sizes! The
contest is presented by the Arvada Gardeners, who will also have gourds and cornstalks
for sale.

Buy your favorite pumpkins from the Pumpkin Patch in the center of the Square.
Proceeds from the pumpkin sales will be donated to the Arvada Community Food Bank.
Last year more than $800 and 400 pounds of food were donated to the food bank.

Deven will host a booth, and in addition to providing great giveaways, he’ll be available
to meet citizens and answer questions as he completes his first full week as Arvada’s

in completing numerous capital projects and promoting tremendous business growth in
the communities where he’s worked.
