Notes To Members: Santiago’s Returns to the Triangle

Dear CLRC members and friends,
At the end of last summer the popular Santiago’s Mexican take-out restaurant located at Garrison Street and Brooks Drive had to close to make way for the new Ralston Creek flood control project that is still scheduled to begin this month. Efforts by the City to help the owner to relocate nearby were not successful.
However, a new franchise owner, Thomas Olguin, says that there will be a new Santiago’s opening on the other side of Ralston Road in early February. The location, at 9575 W 57th Avenue, is just west of the Triangle’s Ace Hardware store and is currently being refurbished. The restaurant will occupy the site of the now-closed Dakota’s restaurant. But don’t expect exactly the same setup that the old Santiago’s had. Mr Olguin says that new restaurant will also feature indoor seating for its customers.
The Santiago’s restaurant chain is famous for its chile sauces and its breakfast burritos. For more information, check out Santiago’s website at http://www.eatatsantiagos.com/ .
