Volunteers Needed: Final Week for Rec Center Needs Survey

by John Kiljan

Dear CLRC members and friends,

Your neighborhood association needs your help!  This is the final week of our recreation center needs survey.  We’re collecting all the filled-in survey forms next Friday, June 14th and turning them over to our community development consultant for tabulating the results.

If you are reading this on your computer, you have probably already filled out the online version of the survey form.  If you still haven’t done that, click on this Survey Monkey link to have the opportunity to tell the City of Arvada what you think should be included in a new recreation center that serves the area around the Arvada Triangle shopping centers and the new “Ralston Central Park” at Garrison Street and Ralston Road.

It takes about four minutes to fill out and you’ll have an opportunity to be included in future design reviews and planning activities for the recreation center if you want to include your contact information.

But many of your friends, neighbors, church members, club members and others acquaintances may be less comfortable with a computer and prefer to fill out a paper survey form instead.  That’s where your help is needed.

We still have nearly 300 undistributed survey flyers from our last reproduction run that are available for pickup and distribution.  We’re asking you to pass them onto as many of your acquaintances as you can during this final week of the needs survey.

You can drop by my house at 6185 Field Street to pick up as many printed surveys as you can distribute.  Give me a call first (303-423-9875) and let me know how many you’ll need and I can set them out for you to pick up.

The completed surveys can also be dropped off at the same address or at the front desk at City Hall (at the lower level, when they are open) or at a drop box located on the fence at the southeast corner of Wolff Park (pictured in this article).

Or, if you don’t want to drive or walk over to pick up surveys, you can also print out as many copies as you need on your own computer by going to this link:

and then clicking on the “Recreation Center Survey” link on that page.

Or, you can download a printable copy directly into your Adobe Reader by clicking on this link:

The surveys will close on June 14th and we need all the returned forms that day.  We can still take comments after that.  And we can take comments at a wrap-up meeting that we are planning to hold at the Arvada Community Food Bank (the old library) on Wednesday, July 24th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  The food bank’s address is 8555 W 57th Avenue.

Thanks to everyone for your help!
