John Marriott is announcing his candidacy for Arvada City Council, District 3, Arvada, Colorado.Image 

John is a Colorado native who grew up in Arvada, attending Sierra Elementary, Oberon Jr. High, and PomonaHigh School, graduating in 1981. He resides in Old Town Arvada with his wife Angie, and children Jack and Sarah Jane.

 Mr. Marriott has served in his community by serving on many boards and commissions. He is currently the Chairman of the Arvada Board of Adjustment, the Chairman of the Wheat Ridge Business District, the Chairman of the Colorado State Trails Committee, and a board member of the Clear Creek Water and Sanitation District. In the past Mr. Marriott has served on the Arvada Gold Line Advisory Committee, Arvada International Property Maintenance Code task force, and the Wheat Ridge Building Code task force. 

Since 1984 Mr. Marriott has owned and operated Larson’s Ski and Sport, at 4715 Kipling St., a local outdoor retail store and ski shop. 

Arvada City Council District 3 encompasses the area from Old Wadsworth West to Ward Road, and the southern city limits near I-70 North to around 68th.
