For those of us who have mourned the loss of the Fisher Pool and have watched the decline of the Triangle shopping center over the years and have fretted about the coming of a big-box retailer to the Arvada Plaza, there is a City Council meeting of interest on Monday night at 6:00 pm.
A short presentation is being made by AURA, and it will be the first to cover the authority’s concept plans for the north side of Ralston Road since the Council’s recent Walmart approval. It will also be the first concept plan to show a possible location for a new Ralston Community Recreation center that includes a neighborhood pool.
The concept plans are supposed to cover the area between the abandoned Safeway and the new Ralston Central Park as well as the proposed new streetscaping between the Kipling Parkway and Garrison Street.
The presentation is scheduled between 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm shortly after the public comment and routine business items. But you don’t have to go down to City Hall to watch it. It will also be shown on KATV-8 for cable subscribers or via a live online feed on Arvada.org — look for the “View Arvada Channel 8 LIVE” link on the right side of the homepage.
