Don Allard,Arvada councilman at-large has announced his intention to seek re-election in the November 5th city election.
Allard, a retired city manager was city manager of Arvada from 1983-87 and Columbia, Missouri for 12 years prior to moving to Arvada.
He has served on the Boards of the Arvada Urban Renewal Authority; the APEX Parks and Recreation District; the Metro Denver Water Reclamation District; the Colorado Municipal League and the Colorado Association of Special Districts. He also has served on 4 City Charter Review Committees and is currently one of two councilmembers on the Jefferson Parkway Public Highway Authority.
Allard is a veteran of the US Army and has a masters degree in public administration from the University of Kansas.
Allard said that his priorities are prudent spending of taxpayer money; taking good care of what we have; efficient operation of governental activities; and the completion of several public improvements currently in progress.
