Dear CLRC members and friends,
These are the notes of an interview held September 8th and it is one in a series of interviews with candidates for the Arvada City Council. The Citizens for a Livable Ralston Community offered each of the candidates an opportunity to review a list of local CLRC issues and concerns and to comment on them in an informal discussion. The candidates were also invited to talk about any other subjects they thought were important. The interviewer was CLRC member T.O. Owens, with follow-up questions and this write up by John Kiljan. The CLRC does not endorse candidates for elected office.
Ted Terranova has lived in Arvada for 45 years. He’s the Vice President of the Arvada Fire Protection District Board of Directors. He is currently an appointed member of the City’s Board of Adjustments. Mr Terranova’s list of credentials includes being a former City Council member At Large (’89 to ’93), a former Planning Commission member, a former president of the Arvada Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Arvada Jefferson Kiwanis, and a graduate of the Faith Bible Chapel Bible College. He is also an owner of Aaark Total Home Services, a heating, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing service provider. Mr Terranova lives in the Skyline Ridge development near 54th Avenue and Parfet Street. You can read more about Ted Terranova on his website referenced below.
Due to what I believe is a clear conflict of interest by the interviewer of the CLRC, who had already made a commitment of support to one of the District 3 candidates and then claimed this group does not endorse candidates, I cannot allow any answers given be published due to this lack of integrity in the process.
However, if any sincere citizen wishes to know where I stand on any City issue I would first encourage them to go to my website at: www.electterranova.net or email me at; firstname.lastname@example.org or call me on my personal cell phone at: 303-877-6230. I will research your issue and give you a straight answer.
Final thoughts: I care as much as my fellow candidates about the City. The important thing about being a representative for the City is being effective. I have the best chance of the three candidates for Council District 3 as being the most effective representative. I’ve been told by one of my fellow candidates that we are philosophically in tune. If that’s the case, there is only one difference between the two of us, and that difference is experience. If you want to have someone who is going to get things done as quickly as possible, I have a track record and can do it. It’s as simple as that.
[Editing notes: The Council District 3 candidates were allowed — and encouraged — to edit their interview notes as they saw fit. Mr Terranova elected to reduce seven pages of interview notes down to the three paragraphs copied above, effectively declining to have his interview write-up posted on this website. –JK]
