Press Release: Ascenzo Di Giacomo for Arvada City Council Candidacy Announcement

Ascenzo Di Giacomo will seek his first term on the Arvada City Council on November 5th; running At Large for the seat held by incumbent, Don Allard.

ADGiacomoBW2His candidacy for City Council in Arvada will mark a longtime goal, which started in Civics class at Arvada West High School, to serve the public and help shape this amazing community in which he grew up. A single dad and an avid outdoorsman, he lives here with his teenage daughter.

With key areas of the city being planned; the time is now for the new council to take a fresh approach to the public process. Ascenzo’s sincere desire to listen, help educate and connect with the public will bring a new perspective to the discussion of issues before council.

After receiving his degree in Architecture from Montana State University he pursued a successful career in Architecture and Urban Design in resort towns in the west. He spent many years working in two towns, which are on the National Historic Register, where he volunteered on some key citizen boards. While on the Historic and Architectural Review Commission and the Environmental Commission in Telluride and Park City’s Citizen Planning Group, he reviewed projects and participated in code and guideline writing.

Ascenzo’s experience and ability to quickly understand planning and zoning issues, their social/cultural implications, the applicant’s plans/financials, and the Land Use Codes, Planning Studies and Historic Guidelines by which we judge them, will allow him to become an effective leader and voice for the community right from the start.

Please remember that the CLRC does not endorse candidates, but we do help keep the community informed.  In that vein we post press releases from candidates that we think are appropriate for our audience.
