Friends of Jerry Marks Announce Jerry Marks to Run for Arvada City Council District 1 Seat
ARVADA, CO – Current City Councilman, Jerry Marks, has announced his intent to keep his City Council Seat in District 1 by running in the November, 2015 election.
Jerry is a native of Arvada. He is a graduate of Arvada Sr. High School (1978) and attended Metro State College in Denver. He volunteered on the Arvada Fire Department for 9 years, married and raised two daughters in Arvada. He started his small business in 1998 in Arvada and remains the President of the company. His company, Custom Environmental Services, Inc., presently employs 70 diverse level staff out of his Arvada office north of I-70 and west of Wadsworth Blvd.
Jerry has served on the Arvada Economic Development Retention Committee (AEDA), became a board member of the Arvada Economic Development Association (AEDA), is a board member of the Arvada Chamber of Commerce and served as their Chairman of the Board. Presently he is the Past-Chairman of the Board. Jerry is a founding member of the Arvada Vitality Alliance (AVA) and has served as Vice-Chairman of the Board and currently serves as the President of the Board. Jerry is also a lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Hazardous Materials Association (RMHMA) and has served as the organization’s president.
Jerry is not only proud of the impact his company has on the state, he is equally proud that it allows him to support many local charities including AVA, Ralston House, Arvada Community Food Bank, Arvada Colts, Blues & BBQ for Better Housing, the Red Rocks Community College Foundation and numerous youth sports activities.
Jerry loves his community and views City Council as a continued service and commitment to his community.
